Mrs. Shelly J. Stebner, age 91, of Potsdam, NY passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the Canton- Potsdam Hospital where she had been a patient since the 23rd. She had been a resident of the United Helpers Nursing Home in Canton, NY for the past three years. Arrangements are with the Garner Funeral Service in Potsdam, NY. There will be no public calling hours or funeral service. There will be a graveside service in the spring at the Gale Cemetery in Childwold, NY. Contributions in her memory can be made to the Potsdam Volunteer Rescue Squad. Condolences can be sent online @www.garnerfh.com.
Shelly is survived by a son Conrad Stebner, a daughter Jan Corbett both of Potsdam, sister Clair Wilkins of Saranac Lake, granddaughter Karin and husband Randy Russell of Potsdam. Her husband Edward predeceased her on October 19, 1978. She is also predeceased by her brothers Paul and Hamilton Ferry.
Sherry J. Stebner was born on January 7, 1919 in Plattsburg, NY to James Ferry and Olive McCuen. She was a graduate of Piercefield High School. She married Edward H. Stebner on July 17, 1927 in Faust, NY. She worked as a bookkeeper for Alyce Shoppe in Potsdam for many years.
